Self-Love Journal Prompts to Help You Remove Your Negative Beliefs

  • 1. What makes you feel good about yourself? Describe what it feels like when you have admiration, respect, acceptance, etc., for yourself.
  • 2. Think back over the last week. What would make you happy? Write down all that comes to mind. When you’re finished, read through your list and choose one thing from each column. Do this exercise daily for 30 days and notice how much happier you become.
  • 3. Have you ever been a bad listener? Try listening more attentively as an experiment and see if you hear different things than usual. Did you learn anything new?
  • 4. Acknowledge one positive quality in yourself every day. Notice what happens after a few days of doing so. Will you be surprised at how quickly your attitude improves when you start writing out these affirmations?
  • 5. Pick three qualities you want to change about your personality. For instance, I’d like to be less critical, more understanding, and more compassionate. Make your goals specific and realistic. You’ll likely need to work hard at changing your behaviour.
  • 6. Ask yourself, “What am I afraid of?” If you can get rid of one fear today, will you feel free and confident in your life? Can you think up 10 ways to overcome this fear?
