216 Affirmations for Overcoming Fear and Insecurity

How often do you hear someone say something negative about themselves or their life? This happens every day, everywhere. And it seems like no matter how much positive thinking you have, you can never get rid of those negative thoughts.

We all face fears from time to time. Some of these fears are common, such as being afraid of spiders or heights. Others are less common, such as having a phobia of clowns or public speaking.

There are several ways to overcome your fears. One way is through affirmations. Affirmations are statements that you repeat to yourself over and over until they become true. They are a powerful tool for changing your beliefs and behaviors.

When you make an affirmation, you tell the truth about who you are. By repeating over and over again, “I am intelligent”, “I am talented”, you start believing this statement. You begin to feel more confident in yourself and others will also see you differently.

216 Positive Affirmations For Insecurity and Overcoming Fear

Chapter 1:

Positive Self-Love Affirmations

The power of positive affirmations has been used for centuries.

Think back to when you were growing up, did you ever notice adults using positive words like, “You can do anything”, “You deserve success now”, etc.?

In this chapter, we’ll learn why affirmations are beneficial for you.

The Benefits of Affirmation

These are examples of positive affirmations because people used them to change their situations and live better lives. Even though we don’t think of ourselves as children anymore, there are many benefits to using positive affirmations. Below I have listed some reasons why you should use affirmations.

1. Your Self Image.

If you believe you’re not smart enough, successful enough, pretty enough, rich enough, thin enough, handsome enough, or accomplished enough, then chances are you won’t be very happy with yourself. It’s easy to accept criticism of yourself, but it’s harder to accept what you’ve already done and achieved.

So affirm that you are good at what you do, that you are smart, strong, attractive, fun-loving and kind, and that you achieve things that other people only dream of achieving.

2. Emotional Health.

Negative self talk can affect our emotions and moods. We may doubt ourselves constantly without even realizing it.

Repeated negative affirmations help us focus on who we really are rather than what others around us expect us to be. That helps us improve our self esteem which leads to feeling happier and healthier.

3. Improve Relationships and Work Life Balance.

Using affirmations makes it easier for us to express ourselves clearly. People usually don’t find it difficult to communicate their needs, wants, feelings, and wants when they are able to speak their minds freely.

4. Change Habits.

A lot of us tend to behave in certain ways whether we want to or not. To break old habits we need to replace bad ones with new ones.

This can be hard work if we haven’t thought about our behavior before. But when we say positive affirmations we set intentions ahead of time so that by the time they actually happen we don’t have any reason to react negatively. And the more we affirm our actions the easier it becomes to act positively towards those desires.

5. Help Us Believe Ourselves.

Sometimes we have doubts or fears about a situation happening. For example we might fear talking in front of large groups, getting fired from our jobs, going to jail, or buying something expensive.

We are always looking out for dangers and threats lurking in every situation.

The problem is, we end up living far beyond our means just to stay safe. Instead of trying to control everything that happens to us, we should trust our instincts and rely on our own inner wisdom.

By trusting ourselves and telling ourselves that we’ll be okay despite whatever comes our way, we free up energy to do more positive activities. When we can feel secure, comfortable, confident, and happy within ourselves, we naturally begin to attract the same into our life.

6. Increase Positive Thinking.

Just because we believe negative thoughts doesn’t mean positive thinking isn’t possible. We hold onto negative beliefs because we assume that is how the universe works, but when we take action and actively make changes, we prove ourselves wrong.

We start believing in our ability to manifest our dreams instead of being stuck in our self doubt.

7. Become More Focused.

Do you have trouble concentrating? Chances are your mind wanders off while listening at meetings, driving your car, doing homework, watching TV, or playing sports.

Affirming our goals helps keep us focused on what we want to accomplish. It also helps develop our concentration skills as well as improve our memory.

8. Feel Better About Who You Are.

One of the most important aspects of affirmations is that they give us an opportunity to appreciate and value ourselves. Most of us compare ourselves against others all the time.

While this is fine for some occasions, the constant comparison creates negativity in our lives.
